The Arts & Culture for Woodstock Fund Gala

Ladies, break out the bling, and Gents, dust off that tux!  This celebratory black-tie evening offers something for everyone, beginning with a Champagne Welcome in the Opera House Community Room.  Main Stage performances follow with a beautiful rendition of A Chorus Line’s “At the Ballet” by local talents Cassandra Vohs Demann, Alayna DeVar and Billy Seger, and stunning highlights from The Nutcracker Ballet as performed by Woodstock Opera House’s resident dance company, Judith Svalander’s Dance Theatre.  Our evening’s tribute to the joy and beauty the arts bring to our world finishes with a first-ever Woodstock cultural experience:  Honored Guest Stars from the world-renown Joffrey Ballet.  Lead Dancers Dylan Gutierrez & Jeraldine Mendoza share their talents with “Bells,” a contemporary pas-de-deux, and, conclude this very special Gala event with their stellar classical pas-de-deux “Swan Lake” performance.

The evening’s tribute to Woodstock’s arts community formally establishes a new annual grant program, dedicated by a group of Woodstock residents to the creative legacy of Mayor Emeritus Dr. Brian Sager.  Developed through The Community Foundation for McHenry County, the sustainable fund will offer competitive grants of up to $2,500 annually to non-profit organizations specifically to support Woodstock artists and cultural venues.  

Gold tickets include all of the above.  Platinum level tickets also enjoy an invitation-only After-Party at a nearby private home.  The party continues with cocktails and Chef Doug cuisine, and two floors of entertainment including Chicago’s jazz vocalist Elaine Dame; former “Hamilton” pianist Howard Pfeifer; and, the debut of the lower level Whistle Stop Lounge, with pianist Sebastian Agignoae, founder of the International Orchestra of Refugees and currently a Master in Public Policy candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School.
